One of the things that makes Sibley Forest so special is the sense of community that exists here, and few traditions capture that better than the Sibley Forest Seahorses swim team.
For more than 35 years, the Seahorses have brought together families from Sibley Forest and the surrounding Sope Creek Elementary area for summers filled with friendship, teamwork, and neighborhood memories. What started in the early 1980s has grown into a beloved East Cobb tradition that continues to shape generations of swimmers and families alike.
What I especially love about the Seahorses program is that it goes beyond competition. Their focus is centered around sportsmanship, personal growth, encouragement, and building confidence in young swimmers. The program emphasizes values like teamwork, goal setting, responsibility, and creating an environment where every swimmer feels supported and included.
Neighborhood swim teams are one of those things that truly make East Cobb living unique. They create lifelong friendships for both kids and parents and help turn neighborhoods into real communities.
As both a Sibley Forest resident and local Realtor, I love supporting organizations that help make this area such an incredible place to call home. The Seahorses are a wonderful example of the strong community spirit that continues to make Sibley Forest one of East Cobb’s most loved neighborhoods.
